Colac is a G’day Friends accredited China-Friendly town.

There are over 50 participating G’day Friends local shops and businesses.  They are easy to find, just look for the G’day Friends logo and QR code. At these businesses, Chinese customers will find a great range of unique goods and understanding staff who provide great Australian customer service.

Colac is the hub of the Great Ocean Road conveniently located just 40km from the Australian National Heritage – Great Otway National Park and within 40 minutes of Lorne, Apollo Bay and The 12 Apostles.

The town is situated on Lake Colac – the largest natural freshwater lake in Victoria. The lake has a number of foreshore walking trails, jetties and boat ramps. There is a bird reserve in the wetlands which attracts a diverse range of bird life to the lake. Located on the lake foreshore is the Tachyglossus mosaic which was developed by local artists and the community and represents local indigenous flora and fauna and symbols of the region.

In town, you can explore and taste some of the finest local produce. The area is famous for dairy, wine and natural health products. There is also a wide range of local handmade made clothing, arts and crafts which can be purchased from many of the G’day Friends businesses in town and the surrounding area.

The Otway Fly – The Treetop walk allows you to walk amongst the forest treetop canopy 30m above the ground.  You can also take a zip-line tour where you are suspended from a cable and swing between platforms with your guide.
